That’s insane, I’ve never been near a car fire but always assume it would come on slow, like you’d smell something burning, then see smoke, then it get hot before the fire is visible. But the spontaneous combustion into the cockpit is horrifying to watch.

People just neglect training on how to use fire extinguishers. You only have a few seconds before it's out, so you gotta make it count, use at the base of the fire not on the flames.
This is the reason I'm a huge fan of central fire extinguishing systems. Even if it's 10 extra lbs worth of crap, it can at least buy you time to get stopped to get out.
