Thanks for a really good day Jonny and not forgetting Phil🎥. Had a few laughs and told a some good tales from that era. Keep me in the loop regarding the time machie as I want in🤣. Thanks again
I'd hazard a guess that the immobiliser was tied into the injectors, and the fact that the indicator lights were flashing suggested the immobiliser was still active/working.
You would have to be mad to trade that for an electric transit van! 🤦🏻♂️😂
The original 3-spokes look best in my very humble one..
The trick with those fiestas is to pull up next to it and play Rhythm Is A Dancer, it'll start right up.
That rear parcel shelf is a totally Unicorn item!! NO 6 by 9 speaker holes in it!!! This brings back so many memories! My Mk3 was only a bog standard 1.3. but watching these two blokes, one under the car and one with his head under the bonnet, trying to figure out pipes and wires is something me and my mates did regularly. The only things missing is the "builder's arse" trousers and the profuse swearing. I think they both forgot the camera was there. A good weekend of picking through all the little things to check and this will be back on the road before you know it.
Immobilizer still on - cutting out injectors if plugs are dry.
The Halford’s fan air freshener is bringing back so many memory’s of parking at Homebase car park back in the day 😂
What a beauty little ride! Hope that Sean gets it back on the road to enjoy soon.
Made a mess of the steering wheel there. Silly bugger!
Back in the day, a mate had a Fiesta van as a work car, which had broken down. His boss told him to go to the hire company and get another Fiesta. He walked in the door and asked for a Fiesta, the hire staff said which one do you want...He had the RS Turbo for two days before his boss found out and went mental! By that time we'd ragged that poor car everywhere 😂
Proper real people I love it and I love the car ❤❤
Thanks team. You guys make our Sundays without any top gear anymore. What a fantastic find! I was originally a Ford man with a fiesta super sport ,like these, And thank you Sean for making me laugh about the seat reclining back. Took me back to the '90s special nights with the ladies. Where's that time machine we need?😂
Well done on the musical editing on your videos! You manage to get the right vibes of each cars age
Spray the easy start directly in to the turbo inlet.
That car is worth a MINT ! Superb!
Easy listening Joyride - Underground 90's brit pop band
I still do wanna see videos of you going back to all cars you showed us to see if anything has happend to it or not. This is an damn good looking car😍
What a cracking day that was glad to of been part of it jonny.and his camera man philwere spot on and the banter was brilliant
Love this Jonny! I used to be an electronics development engineer at Ford, starting in 1991 in the team responsible for fuel systems and instrumentation. We had an RS1800 test car which was brilliant - I preferred it to the Escort RS2000. But we always called the engine management 'EEK 4'!
