I dont get it? That's just how those tank caps work. Ive had one as well. They're Honda's "Pushlock". They're shitty, and the hooks that hold it in place seize up frequently, so oiling them regularily is important, but they do work.

This makes me think of my old phone. I dreaded replacing it so much that I taped my screen back on twice and had to hold it together with two hands to make a call.

I met a guy that had a ripped up dingy ass old zx10 with no fairings on it electrical tape holding the wiring to the frame in a bunch of places and a literal bath drain plug. Indeed at least it’s in there.

you need to change it , if raining its posible water and fuel mix will become proble , later your bike maybe wheezing then you need to clear all tank tu clean it .

I don't think that's broken. Few bikes do come with such caps which just come off.
