My brand-new trailer just broke in half, and the fenders are falling off. Actually, this is a tilt-deck trailer. It tilts down for loading and unloading so you don’t need ramps, the entire trailer becomes a ramp. This trailer has a hydraulic dampening cylinder- it controls the tilt speed so the deck opens and closes smoothly. And it’s adjustable- here I open the valve so it will close with just my weight on it. The thing I love about this style of trailer is I can load large or small equipment without having to lift and adjust heavy ramps. It can also be used as car hauler, and if you’re hauling a low sports car and need room to open the door the fenders are removable. I’ve been borrowing a trailer for years, so it’s really nice to finally have my own. It seems like the really tried to think through everything with this trailer, but there’s a few things I would change. The license plate smashes when you tilt down, and I wish it had more D-rings. I’ll probably weld some on where I need them. I paid $2,500 more for a tilt trailer versus a trailer with ramps- let me know, do you think it was worth it? @hausplans #trailer #howto #construction #diy #contractor

The pallet fork holder is a stroke of genius.
That fork Holder Is so smart
Whoever invented the tilt deck trailer has my sincere thanks
It'll make it a lot easier for the New Guy to get his skid steer to the jobsite!
Absolutely worth it! Having the right tool at the right time on the job site is invaluable
I know a guy who has a trailer like that he has a hydraulic bed he uses to move sheds it’s really nice
The new guy broke it
I think that’s genius! I love the fact that instead of having to take a ton of energy cranking the trailer foot up and down, it has a pull handle that you can use to instantly retract and extend it. My boss had a trailer that had that same feature on it, he also had the default ramps, but they were extremely heavy duty but also very lightweight and prevented the problem with the license plate, i believe they were titanium instead of steel so they were extremely durable, and they were also lightweight. And that fork holder was an absolute genius design too.
Congratulations on the new purchase. I know a guy that rents just trailers and is booked all the time . Great business for someone looking to start their own .
one of the most ingenious trailer designs Ive seen. well worth the extra money spent
Love the pallet forks holder it is smart so you have more room to put stuff on the trailer
I’ve worked in concrete construction a little bit and the company I worked for has 2 of these type trailers and yes, they are awesome!
SUGGESTION: Weld up a license plate holder that is on a hinge, with a pin to hold it into a driving or unloading position.
Worked for a construction co, had a detatchable gooseneck I haul heavy stuff with. Small stuff, he had a single axle with a trailer like that. A Case 280 was scarey driving up there, felt like it was going to to wheelie over on me.
Smart and comfortable trailer. Great job, sir. Thank you. 💐
Good buy, nice trailer 👍
That's a cool trailer 👍👍
I’d personally get some bolts that have a wide knurled head that can be threaded by hand for the license plate. That way you can take it off by hand when loading and unloading the trailer to stop it from bending all the time. A wide knurled head would make sure you don’t need a screwdriver or power tool to take it off.
That may be the best thought-out trailer ever built. 👏👏👏
I’ve had a version of this for about 25 years, the manual tilt deck is rather nice for loading and unloading…the removable fenders are a nice extra…
