Learn how to change the oil in a car or truck. In this case I have a brand new Duramax but the process is the same for a Power Stroke or Cummins. Changing the oil in a diesel is basically the same as a gasoline car except you want to use oil designed for diesel engines. Diesel oil has a lot of soot in it due to burning diesel and soot is abrasive so it’s important you change the oil at the proper intervals. High quality synthetic oil and a good filter is a must.

Next oil change, get the larger oil filter for the LP5. A lot of technicians even at GM dealers think it was a bad idea to drop to the smaller PF63 sized filter. However, congrats on the new truck, looks very nice. I haven't been around the newer Duramax that often, done a few oil changes and fuel filters on them. Definitely recommend doing the fuel filters more often than what the reminder tells you. Could also see if someone offers the high pressure fuel system prevention kit that will collect metal from the high pressure fuel pump if that starts to fail. At least that should in theory save from having to replace everything.
Finally, a proper rig that's not a project car!
30 quarts of coolant holy shit My sedan only needs 8
buying a duramax is a good business decision because he’ll always be able to make videos on repairing it.
