I would tend to err on the side of caution. Would never have gone down those steps. The broken window is interesting. Broken from the outside or broken from the inside? Sounds a bit nefarious to me. Thanks again for another great story!

Pot farm. Back when it was illegal that was the type of place it was done. Approaching could have been very dangerous.
Being from Europe, you probably have no way of knowing that there is no such thing as an "animal tracker;" in and of itself. There are "trappers" (myself being one] that utilize tracking skills constantly while trapping. As a hunter, you of course use tracking skills, especially when looking for a merely wounded animal, to dispatch it quickly, lest it suffer. African Safaris employ "trackers" to find game for their clients. But nobody just goes out and follows animals around for tge hell of it, that i know. Certainly not in the USA
There are people who live deeply in the woods and they are dangerous. They have their own laws. I think they should be taken out of there and let people to enjoy the woods. These people probably don’t have a good experience in society or with their families and they feel lost or they don’t want to follow the society laws. So they want to disappear. Only God knows the truth.

What do you mean that you don't know if your grandpa is still alive? You mean after spending so much time with him in the 1980s, you just left and forgot him? So so bizarre and disgusting that some families don't care or know where their grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters etc are or if they're even alive.
It could have been people with electric allergy living in that remote cabin. Or people who simply lived there for a few months at a time as a form of vacation. To get away from all the people, the noise and other stress factors of modern civilization.

I do indeed have an encounter similar , it is too late and I am too tired to recount it now. Suffice it to say, it is a fairly lengthy story if told correctly. I have many crazy stories , if I told them all to you , you would think me a compulsive liar. ( I would likely think it of someone else,) The one that this encounter puts me in mine of , ends well so some other time. I am unsure how to access the place you ask us to send stories? When I am in Switzerland, I meet regularly up with some Friends in the Woods, (in the midlle ofthe Woods, where we builz like a livingroom with a Bed, Fireplace, Chairs and a Bed, a Bench and so on. It coul also look very Strange to People who find it. (Without roof !) Everything is built only with Wood without nails ore other artificial materials. We Go often there on weekends. It could also look scary for others…😂

Michigan is beautiful. I live in Ohio, so the neighboring state. I find the people here very friendly. I need to see the country side and need at least a farm field between me and my neighbor. LOL I did my time in apartments and postage stamp size yard or no yard at all. Your grandfathers place is so beautiful. Myy garden keeps me very busy, and I grow most of my own veggies. I used to do much more. I would like to see the UK, just to experience the culture. The weather looks horrid , but I get a lot of ice and snow. The countryside looks much the same as my particular state, with about a quarter number or less of trees. I will start looking with my ears. I had never heard of this. 😊 ps We have so many deer here that deer trails are fairly obvious once you see them. I see deer almost every night.
