People often forget how risky hunts like this are for lions too. Taking down an elephant, even a young one, requires huge energy and can seriously injure predators if something goes wrong.

I remember watching the documentary of this mega-pride of lions they were a force to recon with taking down everything from Elephants. Hippos, Rhinos and a buffalo didn't stand a chance
