Had the same escape, ignition barrel wears out then you have to push the key hard and turn it over. Eventually that stops working though 😂

READ THIS!! It’s a $30 part off of Amazon. It will still start if you press the key kind of hard into the cylinder while you turn it and it will start right up. It’s a common issue just YouTube it. Like I said the part is $30 on Amazon and it takes about five minutes to replace. It is not the key cylinder! It is a solenoid that when you press the key in it detects that the key is pressed in so then when you turn it, it starts a vehicle. When you put the key in it basically presses on a little plastic piece that sticks out a solenoid and that’s how the solenoid knows you pushed the key in fully. That little plastic part wears over time and eventually one day, pressing it, and won’t even started either. I literally have the part and the tool to change it out in my glove box for the day that happens.
