Local indy shop owner, friend of a friend, got donated a Range Rover that had its air suspension completely aired down to the wheels. Car wouldn’t move. He told me he kept trying to get the guy to come in for diagnoses and the dude said “I already bought another one, just take it I don’t even want to look at it anymore” and signed the title over to him. I was there when he diagnosed it, it was in transport mode from being shipped across the country and all he had to do was take it out of that mode and it aired right back up. Cleaned it up, did some regular maintenance, sold it for $25k.

Shifter linkage just popped off

I bought a "blown up" rotary for cheap from someone who lived at the top of a hill. I coasted far enough down the hill he couldn't hear me, then dumped the clutch in second, deflooded it and drove the whole way home under its own power

The 03, S500 and 550 are the easiest in the lineup to repair. And right now aftermarket parts are super cheap. I bought my 03 for $3800 In 2011 V-12, with 91,000 miles. Drove it till 240,000 and the transmission just started to slip in 2018. Sold it for $2000. Good times. And that thing was big black and beautiful and fast as hell with airbag self adjusting suspension. Loved that car

I literally did the same exact thing, I bought a 04 Merc s500 for $800 cost me $20 to fix. The owner just rebuilt the trans and it wasn’t holding trans fluid at all. Was just a simple Plug. Drove it for a little over a year that 5.0 German v8 than an old lady ran a red light and Tboned me a week after Christmas 🫠 Fun car to have at 16 I’ll tell you what.

Reminds me of that guy who bough a porche gt whatever it was. For like $10k because it needed some crazy engine repair. The guy took it to the track and just fucking ripped it full throttle and it made crazy noises and shut down. But when he turned it back on it was running like butter.

Happen to me back in like 2002, it was a 2000 Honda Civic with dirt low miles that someone attempted to steal, they damaged the ignition and pulled a couple relays causing it not to start, I bought it for 1,200.. I took it home, and it started right up after the new parts that cost about 200$, i sold that bad boy for 7,500 about 2 weeks later.. 🎉😊
