What started as a geopolitical crisis linked to the war in Iran is now becoming something much more dangerous: a prolonged global energy shock that is slowly grinding down economic growth around the world. In this video, we take stock of where things stand right now, why the current situation is so concerning, and what history tells us about previous supply-driven oil shocks. From the 1973 oil embargo to the Iranian Revolution and the 2008 oil spike, prolonged periods of elevated energy prices have often ended in recession, inflation, and economic pain. We also look at: • Why this crisis is different from normal oil price rises • How governments are using reserves and emergency buffers to stabilise markets • Why analysts are warning about possible $150–$200 oil scenarios • The growing pressure on airlines, shipping, food prices, and consumers • Why central banks are trapped between inflation and recession • And why this may now be turning into a slow-motion economic car crash The big question now is simple: how much longer can the global economy absorb this level of pressure before something breaks? Iran will make sure oil prices remain high AT LEAST until the November US elections.

what did the market expect, usa has a totally crazy president, who has succeeded in the impossible, donald trump has succeeded in making a number of casinos go bankrupt, this should be totally impossible but donald trump succeeded now donald trump is extremely easily fooled, benjamin netanyahu tricked the crap out of trump and he attacked iran, completely without any plan whatsoever, what a star benjamin netanyahu promised trump, that it will be exactly like when you invaded venezuela, it didn't really happen, the usa lost so the market can't go by common sense, or anything they've ever experienced and trump has only just begun
We haven't even seen the scarcity shock hit yet. ETA: end of June.
At this point everyone is reconciled to the Strait of Hormuz being closed for years. It will be traumatic but will provide people with an opportunity to learn local edible plants.
You cannot eat the stock market to stay alive, check for yourself.
Brits shut down North Sea energy and de-industrialized while also destroying its military. All this while driving up regulations and spending on social welfare. What could possibly go wrong?
I can't believe another person exists that has the same hair as Simon Cowell.
When a two-mile-wide shipping lane ALONE EQUALS THE FINANCIAL STABILITY OF EVERY COUNTRY ON EARTH - is the absolute epitome of PUTTING ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. Stupid mankind.
It almost seems that it was all planned.
Yes, this is akin to a world title heavyweight boxing match where the opponents are punching the crowd for points.
Actually inflation was coming back before the war started
Bit of an understatement. It's a lot worse.

Can you imagine living in a country at the end of the crude oil energy supply chain? Countries like Philippines, South Pacific Islands, Australia, etc. have lit off the sweat pumps. PS — China will suffer because its customers are spending money on energy versus goods. PS2 — I’m noticing more activity around our 100 year old oil wells in Ventura County, California. Producers seem to be doing more maintenance in order to squeeze out more barrels of crude oil.
put a man whole can bakrupt a casino, and put in charge of the world's, smart, eh ?
"Oil be back !".
