SAS: Rogue Heroes Season 2, Episode 6 brings the SAS back to Britain as the invasion of France approaches. Bill Stirling is shocked by the role senior command has planned for the regiment, and his objection puts him directly in conflict with the generals. In this scene, Stirling has already shared the classified plan with Paddy Mayne, and the generals are furious. But Stirling’s concern is not protocol — it is survival. The proposed mission would put SAS men 30 miles behind enemy lines, 36 hours before the main forces land. To him, that means his regiment will likely be dead before anyone reaches the beach. The sharpest moment comes when Stirling says he would go alone if ordered, but he will not ask his men to follow him into a plan he believes is nearly suicidal. His dry line, “Most of my men are quite keen to live,” makes the scene both darkly funny and serious. He may have damaged his career, but in that room, he is trying to save the SAS from being used as expendable proof of its own reputation. In the U.S., SAS: Rogue Heroes Season 2 is currently streaming on fuboTV, MGM+ Amazon Channel, MGM Plus Roku Premium Channel, MGM Plus, Philo, and Spectrum On Demand; no free streaming option is listed. #SASRogueHeroes #BillStirling #PaddyMayne #SAS #WWIIDrama #MilitaryDrama #WarDrama #RogueHeroes #BehindEnemyLines #TVShorts #shorts #movie 📌Disclaimer:This video is a fan-edited short made for entertainment and commentary purposes under fair use. The genius you are seeing here is General Frederick Browning. He killed Stirling's career for this and also fucked up Operation Market Garden
They missed the most important part which was with the dead SAS or would give the enemy 36hrs notification that there was an invasion coming giving them to reinforce and dig in.
That line paddy says- “where I am, at best, equivocal” gives me goosebumps every time
Not enough officers suffer accidents down range
A general with zero risk of dying drafting a plan that will almost certainly kill and entire regiment of some of the best troops….ya know heads of state used to lead charges maybe if wars were still fought this way plans like this would never even leave the brains of the individual who thought of them.
Love his "fuuuuck" at the end every time
For how much the British used special forces given the absolute distane that the establishment had for them shows the desperate circumstances that they were in.
This is kind of a gross “punisherification” (new word) of mayne. He was clear and level headed. I recommend everyone reads his biography.
You can find Prick with bloated egos everywhere but in the millitary it takes on another dimension
Seems this tomfoolery was happening way before my time as well. The conventional military has a knack for trampling on warriors
Truly one of the best shows out there right now
This movie is such a hard watch. It's like when you win shower arguments, the movie
I was in the Coast Guard for six years and everyone of my commanding officers was an excellent leader of men, EXCEPT, one. We referred to him as 'Captain Kidd' . If i ever see him again, i'll thank him for showing me what really, really, really bad piss poor leadership is.
Rogue Heroes , superb series ...Part 3 coming soon .
No i’m going but i won’t be going alone, you’re coming with me, because we need to see how good your plan is, i don’t think it will hold water, so its been decided the planner will see it through or die!
Typical upper echelon Brass who can't see the forest through the trees.
OMG YES WHAT A LEGEND IVE BEEN WONDERING WHAT THIS IS CALLED
While Browning is still recognized as the "father" of British airborne forces, his reputation is forever marred and stained by the losses at Arnhem. And that's a stain anyone with a rank never wants on their service record, especially when black marks like that can stunt or destroy their military career altogether.
"The British military at the time was filled with posh aristocrats who knew more about table manners than tactics, solving the problem by throwing men at it, retreat when it goes badly and claim victory anyway." -Lazerpig
Even worse is that they went with the entire operation and screwed up so badly they blamed it on some polish general and the paratroopers while Montgomery didn't get a word said about him
