Look and visit the Royal Forest of Dean it’s beautiful and not as busy as the Cotswolds . Half an hour from the Cotswolds and a door into wales and Herefordshire the Elan valley and snowdonia

Where I live in Bishop Monkton in North Yorkshire it’s very much like that village. Very chocolate boxy. We have a stream running right through the centre of the village, with lots of ducks.

It’s great to see you highlight a part of the English countryside that is less fashionable and I’d love to see more of these VLOGs outside the Cotswolds. There are so many other beautiful areas with farm shops, village pubs and antiques (if that’s your interests) in Oxfordshire and Berkshire let alone the rest of the UK 🫶🏻
As someone born and raised in a small village in Gloucestershire the use of “The Cotswolds” is so odd to me. It’s turned into some kind of pretentious label that’s wearing thin. The area covers 5 different counties and each one offers something different. Why not say the county you’re going to? If you love rural England there are plenty of areas just as beautiful where you’ll get far more for your money and the same lifestyle.
Here’s another vote for the Malverns — close enough to enjoy all that the Cotswolds have to offer, yet far enough away to escape the mayhem. We’re lucky to call Castlemorton home, a quintessential English village beside the beautiful Castlemorton Common. With acres of open common land to walk or ride, and paths leading directly onto the stunning Malvern Hills, it still holds that timeless old-English rural charm. We truly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
The Cotswolds is wonderful to explore but the tourists ruin it - if you live there choose a village that’s not on a main route, Hook Norton is perfectly situated and not touristy!

This was a lovely vlog. I have never been to the Cotswolds but I dream to go one day. To be honest though; my main takeaways from this vlog are: just order the mayonnaise if it’s what you want, live wherever sets your heart on fire and care less about the postcode connotations, and love your ‘cheap furniture’ as much as your antiques because it all contributes to the tapestry of you and the home that you worked so hard for. Don’t fall into the trap of believing that if something is not expensive it is not worth having. ❤️

Postcodes are often only a “thing” for very pretentious people - every area in the country has a good area - and a spot you wouldn’t really want to live - I think in time you might want to live further away - but you have the best of both worlds right now - and that’s great
Try The Malverns :) all the beauty of the Cotswolds and a quick drive over but undiscovered and un pretentious
