As you may know Mom has been sick for almost a week now. But something about this sickness seemed different. She's been sick before but never has she been so wiped out and incapacitated that she couldn't even get out of bed. If you know how much she thrives on being productive then you'll know how absolutely bizarre it is to see her stuck lying in bed without the strength to turn on or off the light.
