This is exactly why coding questions in interviews are often totally useless and maybe even harmful as a way of gauging someones coding ability. I lost out on my dream job (partly) because I stumbled on answering what the difference between a deep and shallow copy was in python. I've been coding with python for years and use it on a near daily basis, but didn't know the difference in the moment and the feedback I received was that I struggled with the technical questions. But frankly not remembering the difference has literally 0 impact on my ability to write efficient and maintainable python code.

Coding is about knowing to know what to know and implement how.

Been programming/coding for almost 2 years and can confirm this is true. I’m still buying and reading new books like I just started. Repetition is the best way I learn. If you’re new, struggling, and nobody wants to help you then know that is par for the course. Stick with it.
