I had a friend that essentially broke his nose twice in the same practice by "getting behind the ball." Turns out he was more in front of the ball than behind it.

When I played third I thought the ball was gonna stay down then it hopped and hit me in my neck

If I’m not getting paid I’m not putting my body in front of it

Thats exactly why they tell you to get in front of the ball. So if it hops it hits your body instead of flying past you.

I used to be fearless with ground balls until I took one to the forehead and started fishing blood put the nose. Was always more timid after that.

Getting in front of those is responsible for A LOT of missing teeth 😂
