I was starting to get worried when there was no new video about the L10 from Petapixel during launch. I applaud the effort in making sure the review is balanced, with mentions of things that are disliked about the L10. Well done to both Chris and Jaron. Something a lot of other reviewers in the camera community should take note of. I see some other reviewers just rushed things and glossed over some important details. Or worse, ignore glaring facts like how obviously chonky the L10 really is. I personally think Panasonic L10 will be a hit. It isn't perfect, but many people will enjoy using it. As for me? I am still waiting for the GM1/GM5 successor that seems more like a faraway fantasy now.
A Lumix camera without ibis is like a Sony camera without autofocus.
$1500 for a fixed, no IBIS system is a pretty big pill to swallow.
X100vi, Ricoh GR IV, OM-3, and now L10. The slow but steady resurgence is cautious but promising!
I appreciate you taking a couple of days to get your thoughts together on this one, very nice!
Such big body should have weather sealing
We need to see M43 bodies the size of an X-M5 or smaller.
Those flaps are screaming "im going to break soon!!"
I think they made it so big so they can reuse the body for a gx85ii or gx9ii ILC camera. Without the fixed lens it will prob accommodate IBIS. Just my guess
lol at the Champaign part
If Panasonic took a nod from the Fujifilm X30 and used a mechanical zoom I think this would be perfect. The slow toggle zoom is something that a serious enthusiast would not like. With that said, if you can program your preferred focal length to launch upon start up I guess its not too bad.
Most awaited review!
Every other video from the L10 event i've seen was basically a first impressions preview. Petapixel took a couple days, but they're the only channel to deliver a full-on REVIEW. As someone who long regretted selling their LX100 II years ago but find the inflated used prices on them hard to stomach now, this for me is an exciting release. Seeing the larger size (I have large hands), more capable internals, bigger battery, more premium build etc, this was an instant buy for me. (hough I will say the ONE thing I wish it had was IBIS *as well as* OIS to get Lumix' legendary Dual IS and computational features like Handheld High Res Mode. Maybe in a future L10 II lol)
Jordan. Jordan. Jordan. Jordan.
I love this for an EDC and the fact that it has a viewfinder. I feel like I need to vote with my dollars so Panasonic stops taking them away from cameras, haha.
Suddenly I have seen more of Osaka than ever I expected as everyone gets to celebrate the L10, the uncompact compact camera. Without a tilt screen or IBIS.
It has no ibis no weather sealing or IP rating or dust proofing for that money 💰 I want some of that .. as well it is quite big to fit in pocket…lastly it is expensive
Nice camera for sure but I much prefer the OM cameras with computational features and weather sealing.
Looks like a winner. Awaiting this body with a m43 mount, it's gotta happen...
I used to live in Osaka. Man I miss that place. Too bad they didn’t release this during cherry blossom festival.
