Three 25-foot pneumatic, fiberglass sharks were created for filming; they frequently broke down in saltwater, leading to limited on-screen time which enhanced the film's suspense. A surviving, restored production-mold Bruce now hangs in the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
