In this classic Horrible Histories sketch, the legendary Greek philosopher Diogenes (who lives naked in a barrel) meets a random guy who calls him a “total weirdo.” Diogenes immediately responds by weeing on him. When the man gets angry, Diogenes calmly says, “You insulted me, so I’m weeing on you.” Then, after more insults, he switches to Plan B… and does something even worse (and funnier). Pure chaotic, gross, and hilariously savage ancient philosophy comedy that only Horrible Histories can deliver! Which is worse — being peed on or Plan B? In a rich man’s house there is nowhere to spit, but his face
Litterally everything in that skit had an actual historical basis in Diogenese behavior, EVERYTHING.
The Scouse accent really sells it. I can totally imagine John Lennon giving an interview like this.
My favorite story about Diogenes, is he would loiter outside of brothels, shaming the men about to enter them. He would demand they give their money to him, a man who needs charity, rather than spending it on sins of the flesh. When they're conscious got the better of them, and they gave Diogenes charity, he would go to the brothel to spend the money they just gave him! 😅
*looking through a pile of bones* "D. what are you doing?" "Looking for the bones of your forefather, bit i cant tell the difference between slave bone and wealthy bones 😢"
"Oh my god! That child is drinking out of a puddle with their hands! Why didn't anyone tell me I could do that? This bowl is so inefficient!"
I love Diogenes, bro was the OG troll over 2000 years before we had the internet 😂
"When I'm dead, just throw me in the trash" — Diogenes of Sinope, probably
You think this is an exaggeration? Nope, they might have well actually went back in time and filmed this on location, DAMN ACCURATE! 😂
*proceeds to make fun of the emperor of the entire known world
This isn’t a bit he actually threw away his bowl when he learned he could just drink from his hands
Guy playing Diogenes looks like rental Viggo Mortenson, lol.
Why does he sound like a discount beatle ? 🤣
Once the question got ask "what is a man?" Plato answered with "Featherless Biped" This pissed Diogenes off and he plucked a chicken and barged into Plato's school with it like "look at this Featherless Biped isn't he a human now"
Diógenes is Ringo he sounds like freakin hippy Ringo.😂
There's actually a record of Alexander the Great approaching Diogenes when he was laying in a field and told him that he would give him anything he asked for. Diogenes simply asked for Alexander to step to the side, as he was blocking the sunlight. This was then followed by this exchange: "If I were not Alexander the Great, I'd wish to be Diogenes." "If I were not Diogenes, I'd wish to be Diogenes too."
Lore accurate Dyogenes
If I was not Alexander I would like to be Diogenes
Diogenese did have a long list of grade A clapbacks to people who irritated him. But Im gonna side with count dankula on this one, if he were alive today, everyone would hate him just as much if not more than he was hated in his own life time because he was just as much a hypocrite when it came to criticisms as he couldnt take the level of hits he freely handed out.
„You insulted me so I’m weeing on you“ got me dying
