My Dad’s car growing up was alfa 159 lusso manual, so seeing these videos is absolutely riddled with nostalgia for me. love the channel lads, up the creamers
6:58 wu tang clan reference (gravel pit) is my absolute favourite song loving the content!
Little tip next time you do a oil change on your alpha rip up a cardboard box and stick it through the arch under the oil filter so you don’t drown the subframe in oil
Great to see an Alfa getting some love on the channel. I owned a 159 petrol for 10 years, did 60k miles in it and it never put a foot wrong. It was the most reliable car I have ever owned.
Love the shot at 0.34!! Haha who is just standing in the back of the shot... totally.... blending in to the hedge?!
My favorite car channel and the mans got on a Jamiroquai hoodie? This is beautiful
checking oil having dipstick upsidedown makes my giggle always
my dad had a 2.4L diesel alfa... 159. seeing the interior brings back memories.
This engine is basically the same as is in an opel insignia, best keep up on the services seen a lot of these engines come though our garage in very very poor states of repair. Good luck Will!
I own a 159ti sport wagon and have done for 8 years. Great cars but had my fair share of repair bills and breakdowns but now it’s mechanically sound. Hardly drive it nowadays dude to being in the work van most of the week but everytime I get in the Alfa. Nothing but smiles and good vibes. Turns a few heads too and getting thumbs up always helps when I’m on the fence about selling up
2:31 perfect Italian accent, 10/10
The 159 is a awesome car. I have had 2. A 2.4 ti saloon and 2.4 ti wagon. Only parted with the wagon as the head and turbo both went. My parking sensors were the same. Mostly seasonal. Worked mostly in the summer. I also had issues with boot release. My number plate light warning ended up permanently was on as well. But the feeling you get driving them is great. Definitely swap over the exhaust for a twin exit. I really wanted to put a 330d engine in mine when it died but it just didnt happen. Massively making me miss my 159. Great videos boys
Keep the EGR valve clean, you should be good. Almost every service. It's easy to take out, and avoid many issues.
8:46 check the turbo actuator is working its full stroke, they do weaken with age and leak air and means turbo isn't going restricted enough to do low boost, also the vanes inside sieze up
21:57 is the definition of why I love TDC
"It was only £600" justifies doing whatever you fancy to a car without worry. Hope the rear seat is an easy fix - I really like the tan interior 👍
20:07 awesome jamiroquai hoodie you got on there edwin!
I had a black 2010 2.0 JTDM 159 ti Sportwagon for a good number of years, LG10XNL. Loved that car, never let me or the family down. Did trips the length and breadth of the country, great car. Good economy, comfy on long drives up to Scotland from the Midlands, and the most tremendous looks for a mid-size estate car.
I LOVED my 159 estate. It was amazing
You can get adjustable lower suspension arms to address the Ti geometry issues. Also the springs were specific to the Ti as one of mine cracked and a replacement was more than double of the lusso ones.
