Stu is alive for one reason. His death didn't follow "the rules." The killer always pops up for one last scare. Billy did. Stu didn't.
*”I’LL BE RIGHT BACK!…..”* (1996) *”I ALWAYS COME BACK…”* (2023)
"The TV that killed Stu Macher!" *"If you believe he's dead."*
"Stu.. you've been manipulating me?" "Always has been, Billy."
Scream is legit one of my favorite movies of all time. It has everything. The humor, the horror, the suspense. I
This is why you do not mess with shaggy, he's only using 1% of his power
I think it would be cool if they went for a Silence of the Lambs angle, have Stu be in prison and advising a detective or the victims of this movie, using his experience to help them survive or track down the killers.
The fact that Kevin saw the Colorado High School tradegy and CHANGED THE SCRIPT to honor the victims shows that even though he is DEDICATED to these movies, he will still make sure the audience doesn't get the wrong message.
Billy and Stu ❌ Henry and William ✅
Before Scream 6 came out, I had a theory that Stu would return as Ghostface. My reasoning connected to themes of struggling with PTSD, reckoning with actions from the past, and trying to connect with someone who might understand. Essentially Stu would be killing everyone around Sam in an attempt to isolate her and to get her to team up with him like her father Billy. The fact that a very old/weathered version of the Ghostface mask was part of the movie felt like that was a possibility. But obviously that didn't happen. I think Scream 6 even briefly brought up the idea of Stu being alive as a conspiracy theory in-universe or something similar to that
Who’s here after watching scream 7 trailer?
Actually ghost face was originally called the woodsborro killer or murderer and was only called ghost face by 1 character in the first movie and wasn't called it again until scream 5
The problem with Stu returning and getting announced is that Scream is a franchise where they hide the identity of the killers throughout the entire movie. Telling everyone that Stu is returning just feels like a huge spoiler and if he was going to truly be the big bad of the movie, they would probably want to keep it a secret for the shock value.
Many will never know how it felt to be in theaters opening night and seeing Stu step into frame right after they showed it was Billy. The sounds the audience made when everyone figured out what was happening.
I’ve been a Stuther for the longest time and seeing the confirmation was one of the best moments of my life. I quite literally screamed. And this theory is now one of my new favorites
Fnaf, and Scream, Lillard really has a lot of work in the near future.

Apparently AI and Deepfake will play a role in scream 7 so my guess is the killers will uses this to “resurrect” dead character to torment Sidney like imagine dead ghostfaces or even dead victims having there voice and likeness used for some twisted psychological warfare (scream ain’t afraid to comment social media and the film industry) with a central plot around is Stu alive or not
2:00 let me stop you right there about the killers’ costumes. It already existed and Wes Craven chose it because that way he would t have to come up with a “brand new killer” and it was already on shelves so people could buy it.
In scream 6 the screen is broken on the TV that “killed Stu” supposedly.
