Ok so my theory is that’s essentially this whole world is his representation for social anxiety and BPD (borderline personality disorder). He mentions his fear of abandonment which is a common symptom of BPD and this is his way of trying to cope with how he sees the world. The nesters are people who have either wronged him that caused him to have BPD or coming into contact with people. Most likely finding them were he’s encountered people who’ve he’s had a personal connection with.
