Wait, I always thought they mentioned that it was a 100 year quest guildarts went to and not 10 year quest, is there a translation error or was I trippin all these years? 😅
References to Gildarts were actually intentionally _removed_ from the early arcs of the Fairy Tail anime (in original manga he _is_ mentioned relatively early!) because the animation studio was not sure whether the series would go beyond the episode 48, which concludes the first season.

The episode where Natsu shows Lucy the rainbow cherry blossom isn't a filler episode. If I'm not mistaken, it was a special chapter or an omake from the manga. That's why it's 100% canon for Nalu shippers.

In the anime they didn’t put it but in the manga when laxus faces mystogan, mystogan tells him when laxus argues about them being considered the strongest wizard in FT that he is not considering gildarts and laxus replies that it doesn’t matter cause he will never come back.
Gildarts is on a whole other level. You will see his full potential in fairy island.
