Some funny trivia is that the authors of Re:Zero and Konosuba are good friends IRL and challenged each other to write something new. One had to do a happy go lucky story and the other had to do the dark and mentally challenging one.

You know the writing is top tier when (eventho the fight was great) the best part of that episode was 2 guys walking down stairs for half the episode. The depth of their relationship and julius current mental and emotional state are so well written

Reid is being really brutal with Julius, but it's exactly this level of brutality that Julius needs to learn to face and overcome, and I definitely feel like Reid knows that. edit the bit about Julius hesitating is about Julius recognizing Reid as similar in power to Reinhard, and he's spent his whole life just accepting that he can't beat Reinhard and he shouldn't even try.

Well, Foxnida knows that Anastasia is a greedy woman that doesnt want to lose anyone important to her. if theres even a possibility that Wholius is important to her, then Foxnida can't simply stand by while he gets murdered.

I love that scene at the end. They're true bros.

From the next episode onward, it’s all going to be psychological — the kind of stuff we all love about Re:Zero. Phase 3 is going to start, and that’s where the real peak fiction begins.

This test/trial is interesting, at first you think its a test of strength but imo it seems to be a test of willpower and maybe even thinking outside the box (which would make sense with what Reid says to Julius). But im loving this show and have since it started the characters are fun they arent always serious but aren't always silly, it feels like a decent mix.

When I watched Re:Zero for the first time (in 2017, after all the episodes of the first season had already aired), I always wondered why people spoke so badly of Subaru... "Why?" "WHY?" It took me a few years (and the maturity that comes with it, since I was 18 in 2017) to realize something: everyone who complains about Subaru being bland, whiny, or weak... they only do so because they see a reflection of themselves in him, and they don't want to admit it. Or if they do, they are admitting they are just as flawed as he is. But for me, that's what makes Re:Zero so incredible. Subaru is one of the most realistic characters I've ever seen, not just in anime. Every time he returns by death, it's because of a mistake that you or I would probably make too. And there are many who say, "Ah, if I were in his place I would do this, I would do that..." Here in Brazil, we have a funny saying for these people: we call them an "engineer of a finished building". It means that after the damage is already done, anyone can easily point the finger and say what the person should have done. For me, this realism is the best part of Re:Zero. But there are many other great things, and I agree 100% with you about how this episode made me love the story even more than I thought possible. Thank you for allowing us to follow this journey alongside you. As soon as I watch a new episode, I rush to watch your reaction. I hope Re:Zero continues releasing for a long time until the story is finished. Even if it goes on hiatus for 2 or 3 years, I really wouldn't mind. By the way, Luke, there's another anime with a similar vibe to Re:Zero that I think you would absolutely love: it's called Summertime Render. It was literal torture watching only one episode a week and spending 7 days desperately wondering what would happen next. I genuinely believe it will make you want to binge-watch all the episodes in a single day. Once again, thank you.

This anime is really special man, it's actually crazy how good it is, the writting is fenomenal, the character... chef's kiss, and never fails to stay good... my favorite piece of media to this day!
