My personal theory is that this is why Frieren is always so tired. Suppressing your mana is like flexing a muscle. It's not super straining but it IS a strain. And doing it constantly..... It explains why Frieren is always sleeping in and difficult to wake up. Even when she's sleeping she's under a constant low level of strain.

17:05 Flamme explains it at the end. Hiding their mana for a short tactical advantage is fine, but hiding their mana all the time is an affront to the honor of mage battles. A chess grandmaster wearing a disguise for a prank game of chess would be fine. But a chess grandmaster hiding wearing a disguise to dominate a newbie tournament would be petty and unfair.

Stark vs Linie was literally only a "fight" because Stark was afraid of her, because when you think about it, he had every single advantage: he's tougher, he's leagues stronger, Linie can't copy his technique because it's the same as Eisen's which she already copied, and Stark actually understands Eisen's technique unlike her

Two notes: The four frames of the hero's journey to defeat the demon king were approximately one one-hundredth the length of the flashback of Frieren's life up until meeting Himmel that proceeded them, just as the 10 year journey was 1 1/100th of her life. And Frieren revealing her full mana to Aura was to demoralize her, as mentioned earlier strong willed individuals can resist the scales for a short time, which is why Aura decapitated them herself so they didn't have time to muster the will to attempt one final strike. With her will broken so thoroughly Frieren could afford to just turn around and walk away, one final twist of the knife and insult proving herself superior not just in mana but at Aura's own game. Which she also did to Qual (killing him with his own spell) and Dracht (decapitating the demon who cut off heads). Frerien has that good old real deep deep hate for demons.

We've seen the radius of how far that flower spell usually goes. Frieren either put much, much more juice into it at Flamme's grave, or cast it again and again in every direction till those flowers stretched much father. Like most things with the cold toned elf, she speaks of her master in very neutral terms, but the love she held for her was spoken in that action.

Imagine watching episode 10 and hearing aura kys in frieren’s amazing dub voice and still thinking this show isn’t absolute peak in dub 😤

It's one of the best mic drop moments in anime.
