November 2024: Session 4 - Campaign Organizing
Youth Advocacy Training for Ocean and Climate Action is a free, virtual 4-week program designed for youth around the world, ages 16-23. The training content builds upon and refine existing advocacy skills and encourage strengthened collaborative conservation action – locally, nationally, and globally. Participants have the opportunity to talk with experts, network and collaborate with their peers, and develop a strong foundation for all their future advocacy efforts. About the Speaker: Miguela Marzolf Miguela Marzolf (she/her) is the policy coordinator at Seattle Aquarium, where she focuses on orca recovery and environmental justice. Miguela worked outreach & engagement as a consultant for Seattle Department of Transportation, and in internal communications and PR for Amazon. She holds a B.S. in Zoology and a MPA with a focus on environmental policy. She is passionate about bipartisan, collaborative efforts to create and develop environmental legislation. She is committed to evidence-based decision- making, focusing on cultural contexts and equity. Her mission is to drive inclusive and data-informed decision-making that creates equitable, accessible, and sustainable practices for the world's resources and environment. Outside of work, Miguela enjoys camping and hiking, spending time with her two dogs, and trying to find the best taco in Seattle.
