It took me years to realize the cure for my addiction had nothing to do with fighting the addiction. It was learning how to handle stress, boredom, lonelyness.

Simplifying my life has really helped. Too overstimulated, distracted, and comparing myself to others. Learning to sit and enjoy the warmth of the sun on my skin of a morning is something I look forward to. Little things keep me going. The smell of coffee brewing. The soft fur of a pet. Fresh laundry or clean bed linens.

If you say there’s nothing you can do, you’re right. When you say it’s impossible, it is, because it’s only possible if you believe it is. You can’t win a battle you refuse to fight in.

Has become more of a, nothing I want to do anymore. Nothing I can do, implies that one has some more or less concrete goal that they can't achieve. But in my opinion it gets even darker when there is no more goal to strive for and it kind of doesn't even matter any more.
