In Canada with a kidney stone or stones, there is a procedure called Lithotripsy where the stones are zapped and they break apart so they can be passed.

Hospitals all round: my grandson Isaac spent the weekend in hospital which culminated in an appendectomy. And I spent the day in hospital today, which ended with the senior cardiologist telling me I have a total heart block and that they will be fitting a pacemaker. I'm nervous!

I’m a 61 year old woman and had a huge kidney stone at 37 years old. I had a lithotripsy performed which will blast it apart with sound waves. Fortunately it worked for me since mine was porous. It doesn’t always work if you have a very dense hard stone

My prayers are with Philip. I went through the same thing last December. My stone also was blocking my urethra and was 8x12mm. That was the most excruciating pain I've ever had.
When my husband was suffering from many bouts of kidney stones the last Dr gave him a list of things not to eat. #1 on the list was asparagus.
