The Touch Bar needed improvement not removal.
So he took some risks. Some of them paid off and some didn’t and were eventually corrected. Sounds good to me!
Steve did his job. Tim did Cook. Now It's time for John to Ternus up!
The touchbar was actually a great design, the reason why it didn’t succeed was because of the keyboard that was associated with it
To be honest I’m pretty happy that John Turnus is going to be the new CEO I can’t wait to see what he has in store for apple 👍
The Touch Bar wasn’t bad, I wonder why people didn’t like it… it was cool and functional
Mind you, the butterfly keyboard was largely led by Ive who also famously wanted to combine the Air and Pro into a combined 'one size fit all' product. After he left, that's where you see Apple drop the butterfly keyboard, drop the Touch Bar on larger size Macs, keep the Air - Pro very distinctive, and the return of MagSafe. The Touch Bar as a concept was an innovative tool, but it fell short because of lack of dev support and replacing the function row keys. Both Tim and Steve had their share of commercial failures and backlash for business decisions, but what gave Steve leverage was that he was able to run his own company and basically made it a computer research company. That technology revolutionized the Mac, and gave Steve priceless amounts of knowledge on what consumers REALLY want. Tim didn't have that leverage. That's where Ternus sticks out. He spent time watching from the PR sidelines and being in the trenches, and caught on with what works and what doesn't. The Neo, Air, Pro, iPad, and iPhones all being wildly popular reflects that he understands the recipe.
13:37 huh?! Isn’t the Neo a hit?! They can’t build enough of them fast enough. In the investors call, Tim Apple even said that they didn’t expect the response. And what about the mini?!
He’s got that perfect CEO facial structure and the dead stare down pat. He’ll do great.
for the butterfly keyboard I blame Johnny Ive, Ternus might be the hardware guy but if u have the design team pushing like hell some idea that might have trouble, just can't fight that
AppleTrack got upgraded to ios26 👀
Hearing hardware critique from a guy who flies to Australia every year to drop brand new iPhones from high elevations to see how long it takes them to break is really rich
Ternus's name is also the first and last three letters of the planet Terminus which is the main planet of the Apple TV Foundation series.
I still miss Touch Bar so much.. trying to accept every prompt with function keys.
Digital glass video credits--nicely done Sam 👨🍳
Great job, this video is well put together.
:40 - "comprises of" should just be "comprises", since "comprises" means "consists of" and adding a second "of" is an error.
I loved the touch bar! For predictive text alone. Can’t wait for the touch screen Macbook 😁
What was covering the eyes supposed to convey
I continue to watch this video because the content was interesting but more so because it wasn’t an AI produced video. I’m so tired of AI produce videos trying to make themselves look like their human produced so thank you for that and nice presentation.
