I switched my daily driver to Intel’s Core Ultra 285K for 5 straight months to see if the internet’s complaints were actually true. Gaming, editing, multitasking, stability, etc — this is what really happened after long-term use. ○ Get your JayzTwoCents Merch Here! - https://www.jayztwocents.com ○ Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkWQ0gDrqOCarmUKmppD7GQ/join ○ Join the official JTC Discord! https://discord.gg/jayztwocents ○○○○○○ Items featured in this video available at Amazon ○○○○○○ ► Amazon US - https://amzn.to/43wnUsz ► Amazon UK - http://amzn.to/Zx813L ► Amazon Canada - http://amzn.to/1tl6vc6 ••• Follow me on your favorite Social Media! ••• Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jayztwocents Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/jayztwocents Instagram: http://instagram.com/jayztwocents# SUBSCRIBE! http://bit.ly/sub2JayzTwoCents --- 00:00 4 Months of Daily Use 02:35 Does It Feel Different vs AMD 04:03 Crashes And Instability 08:56 Weird Power State Issue 10:41 Motherboard Gripes 12:08 Adobe Premiere 5090 Compatibility 13:38 Experience vs 9950X3D 16:33 X3D Is Not Always Worth It 20:36 Summing It Up 23:21 Recommendations For Buyers

this is the review people actually wanted
1990: In 2026 we'll have flying cars. 2026: We have computers that can't be properly turned off.
Regardless of what people say, we thank you for being honest. Props to you Jay. 👍
Windows Fast Startup was causing my shutdown / instant power on loop on my Core Ultra 9 285k system.
have system with 9800x3d and 285k both with 5080 and they both fine machines. Had no issues running anything with either
I appreciate 2:36 the showing of dust! But I never doubted that he actually daily drove it.
It is good to see someone actually talking about the fact that the benchmark numbers do not equate to how the system works. Also really glad to hear that you didn't immediately blame the platform for the issues that you experienced. Honest reviews and well rounded opinions are hard to come by these days
The best CPU/System you can get is the one you can afford. Let's be honest, and Jay has just proved it - most people are not going to notice the "edge performance" so long as the system as a whole is reasonably balanced.
Finally competition is happening and we'll all benefit
270k plus is the real champ....
Armory Crate was the cause when this happened to me on my Asus Strix X390-i ITX board, took me months of testing before i found out what was causing it.
24:45 Jay, they did come out with a 250K Plus as well lmao. It's literally on the market right now for around 200 Euros / Dollars / whatever. The tests say that it's great. It would probably be my number 1 recommendation in that price segment right now, even if it is a gaming focused build.
I've flopped back and forth between both AMD and Intel for CPUs and AMD and Nvidia for my GPUs for many years. I have no strong feelings one way or another (currently have 9800X3D and Nvidia 4080 Super)
The 270K (and the 265K and 285K) is by far, the best CPU if your PC use is more than Steam and Xbox mode....
Honestly I don't really care about platform all that much. I went from an FX8150 to an 8700k to a 5950x. I'd be happy to move to a 270k+ or 285k from Intel or a 9950x from AMD. Both would give me a pretty large boost in performance. Just to be clear however, my pc still does everything I need it to and I don't need an upgrade yet. Recently live streamed REquiem all the way through and played at 1440p with no issues at over 100 FPS on average. It would work the same on a newer CPU.
As someone who has been on Arrow Lake (265K) since 2024, it was never bad. It just maybe wasn't tuned the best out of the box, which was fixed with the 200S Plus Refresh. I have been running the 265K overclocked since 2024 and it has been an excellent experience and one of the most fun platforms to overclock.
What surprises me is how Lossless Scaling for dual GPU became popular, yet hardly anyone realizes the Arrow Lake iGPU is strong enough to push 1440p 60 to 120. No second GPU needed.
I went from a Gen 1 i7 920 to a 9800X3D and there wasn't that much perceivable difference going to the new upgrade, but when I went back to do some things on my 15+ year old system the difference suddenly felt like night and day. Funny how that works.
Had my system (9800x3D, 5080, 64gb 6000mt/s) do the same memory training on boot every now and then - and it's always been when Windows has done updates. Super happy it does the re-training tbh.
I had a stupid power-on straight after power off and after many months figured out it was usb wake-up. As far as I can work out either the keyboard or mouse would trigger the wake as soon as it hit sleep, especially if using a hub to get the logitech transmitters on my desk..
