But that plopping takes time, so much, in fact, that I only built 8 blocks today. So I have a question for you - was it worth it, or should I keep on zoning? ------------------------------------------------------------ MY CURRENT SAVES & MOD LISTS ► Magnolia County Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MagnoliaCountySave ► Magnolia County Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MagnoliaCountyPlayset ► Segunda Beach Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SegundaBeachSave ► Segunda Beach Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SegundaBeachPlayset ► Banff Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BanffPlayset ► Banff Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BanffSave ------------------------------------------------------------ FIND ME HERE ► Use Master Planned Music in YOUR videos and streams: http://MasterPlannedMusic.com ► Twitch: http://twitch.tv/cityplannerplays ► Website: http://CityPlannerPlays.com ► Discord: https://discord.gg/CityPlannerPlays ► Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/cityplannerplays.bsky.social ------------------------------------------------------------ SUPPORT THE CHANNEL, GET COOL PERKS! ► Merch Store: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Store ► Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CityPlannerPlays ► YT Membership: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/YTMembership ------------------------------------------------------------ MUSIC FROM THE VIDEOS ► Master Planned Music: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MPM ► Approaching Nirvana: http://youtube.com/@ApproachingNirvana ► Epidemic Sound: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Epidemic ------------------------------------------------------------ MY GEAR ► Kit.co Link https://kit.co/cityplannerplays ------------------------------------------------------------ EDITORS ► Lead Editor: @1C2yt ► Assistant Editor: @CityPlannerPlays ------------------------------------------------------------ PLAYLISTS ► Ultimate Beginners Guide to CS2: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BeginnersGuide2 ► Ultimate Beginners Guide: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BeginnersGuide ► Cities Skylines II: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/CS2 ► Tutorials: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Tutorials ► Nicolet Bay: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/NicoletBay ► Verde Beach: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/VerdeBeach ► Clearwater County: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/ClearwaterCounty ► Abandoned City Fix: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/AbandonedCity ►Abandoned City – Bluffside Crossing: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/AbandonedCity2 ► Sustainable City: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SustainableCity ► Bluffside Crossing: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Bluffside ► City Tips: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/CityTips ► Previous Live Streams: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Streams ► Timberborn: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Timberborn ► Other Games: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/OtherGames ------------------------------------------------------------ HASHTAGS #CitiesSkylines2 #cityplannerplays ------------------------------------------------------------ CHAPTERS

Phil, I know I speak for a lot of us when I say that I really hope this series continues long after what you've got planned out for this month. New Banff is fantastic.
How about making that second bridge over the river a public transport only bridge? This could really help with future traffic in the rush hour and would force the cars to take the big bridge.
I don't think I ever spent a whole day waiting for a YouTube video. I'm really enjoying this series. As I said in the previous episode, European cities aren't random spaghetti streets, a lot of more modern downtowns, 1700s+, are very similar to the older parts NYC or Boston. Small square blocks with narrow roads. Curved and irregular roads always some reason for the shape. Street parking is also a big thing here. Back alley parking happens too. Massive parking lots are more for out of town malls or underground either beneath whatever building they belong or alone usually near parks, public transit, etc. The Lobster Tail, I'd save and place near the fishing industry. It looks like an old warehouse, you could imagine someone covered and older fishing building and the food is the one caught locally
I still think there should be a roundabout in front of the city hall, would, make it possible to turn left, and you can make it a center piece with a statue or some other interesting thing :)
What you could do, if you really wanted to go crazy, is make the bridge at 12:45 a transit and pedestrian only bridge, like the new one in Finland, solely for bikes, pedestrians, trams, and buses. It would be a cool tourist attraction if you gave it a super cool bridge design
I’ve got 3 things to say: 1) What’s the rush? We love the care and attention you put into your cities. I’m not here to see a finished city, I enjoy watching you build it. Take your time and make it perfect. 2) Even though I’m usually the guy criticizing the size and amount of parking lots you use… this time, I honestly felt the Downtown area was seriously lacking them. 3) I’m absolutely addicted to this daily upload thing. I keep refreshing my homepage waiting for your video to show up… it’s been awesome!
The Fox Street bridge should be a tram only connection, maybe mix with bike roads as well using road builder. And you definitely need more parking in the downtown area, you have 1000s of residents there, plus customers to support. Vladalexsh has some good assets for that.
I'd love to see the colors on the City Hall asset be more cohesive with the rest of the city. Red pavers instead of the yellowish tan, and maybe recoloring the building a bit too, if it is possible with that particular asset.
Not sure if it's just me, but I'm not a fan of the couplet surrounding the downtown. Not only does it take up more precious space, it seemingly is creating more bugs and problems than it's worth and those supernodes look jank as hell
I've never clicked on a video notification faster. Love this series!
To stop the cut through traffic on the pedestrian road, can you use your network mod (forget the name) to eliminate turns onto that road? This was fun to have a detailed deep dive into a few blocks and see you really come to life with it. I wouldn't do this every episode, but its a format that I think you can use again on occasion when you hit an area that deserves this kind of focused treatment.
i know this is rapid fire but we should still get a brief city tour every few episodes
The highway connection is definitely overbuilt. The way they build in western Canada they wouldn’t have a bridge span that long unless they absolutely had to; they would drop it back to the ground and build up a wildlife overpass if it was cheaper
dude I haven't felt this much excitement for a series from you since I first got introduced to your channel with clearwater county, genuinely has sparked a major comeback in me, and I can't wait to see where things go!

6:30 not a mod but i fix i found is changing one of the ends to u-turn only in the traffic mod. still gives access to the road for maintenance and delivery vehicles but prevents through traffic
In Denmark pretty much every medium to large city will have a downtown pedestrian street or a network of them. One thing that almost universally true, is that it's very hard to make them work when they cross busy streets. It usually ends up with one part of them being very under utilized and stores and restaurants having a hard time getting enough customers. Where I live, they ended up closing down the busy street and converting it to apartments and more pedestrian streets to try to connect all of downtown, to fix this issue. Just some food for thought, when trying to layout a lot of pedestrian street in this area. At the same time they also converted the whole area into underground parking, so as not to take up valuable downtown space with parking lots.
that quay looks really tall. and the fact that you covered the entire usable section of the shore with it kind of disappointed me. i don't want to be too negative though, i love the series so far!
Covering that lovely natural waterfront up with a quay wall hurts a little bit. I don't know if maybe it's a European thing, but at least where I live you'd find very beloved public beach spaces along areas like that.
Taxis, busses and Ubers are allowed to be on pedestrian walkways in Minneapolis. Easy way to explain all the traffic on that road.
