Nice to see the Italian crowd reacting positively to Rublev breaking Sinner’s serve for the first time this week
Sinner played at a ridiculous level, landing only 45% of first serves yet winning 6-2, 6-4. He suffered his first break in seven matches—unreal.
It is subtle but Rublev is improving steadliy. His mindset has shifted a lot since last year. He is calm and focussed, and doesn't live dwell too much on lost points. He is one of the few players at the top who have realized that their ceiling is not a ceiling...it can move! Super happy to see his progress! Good luck to him 🙅

He’s not only winning, he’s always winning in max 90 minutes or so. This is really a HUGE help in the long run because he will almost always start and finish matches less tired than any opponent. Unless his semi will last forever, if he will reach the final it will be like having played at least 2 less matches than any opponent, time wise. Impressive.
It is not surprising to see Sinner playing like this. He is the type of player who is always trying to improve and/or tweak every department of his game and to be good on all surfaces. He has the combined talent, desire, work ethic and motivation to do so.
What is astonishing about Sinner is that he plays without any hesitation whatsoever — every move is decisive and powerful. He’s in his own league entirely.

Jesus Rublev played SO well - he maintained pace and depth and yet sinner was LETHAL
Very happy for Rublev and his results against Sinner in this match. He showed very good mental strength, had some great rallys, and won some great points with deadly precision shots. He performed much better against Sinner in this moment than many others he has played who are ranked far lower than Sinner. Hope Rublev keeps up this level of play as well as this mindset - he is a deadly opponent when he truly realizes how good he is.
