Embarrassment at the highest level

If Ato Forson had released all the money they needed for us to have a world class athletics games but some sports journalists kum politicians had come complaining that the budget is big so there is corruption, we would leave the positive glory that the games brought us and then focus on the so called corruption and bastardize the whole games just as we did to the one which was beautifully organized during Akufo Addo's administration. During Akufo Addo's time we forgot about the beautiful facilities that were built within a very short time despite the economic challenges after COVID. We forgot about all the operational efficiencies that impressed participants from other countries and made them to shower praises on Ghana and rather focused on some contractual budget disagreement between GBC and some foreign media house to make the organization of the whole games look like a total fraud. I believe that Ato Forson was scared about the backlash he and JM might receive if he releases any big money to properly organize the games looking at what happened to Akufo Addo. I just don't know what Ghanaians want. We just love to focus on the negatives.

Thanks for this Sheldon. The government always prioritizes football and leaves behind all the other sports disciplines. If some were to get even 10% of the budget of the black starts there will be transformation. Until then we’ll keep losing all our talent to other countries who have rightfully provided facilities and also funded these athletes.
