I definitely support the workers and I know you guys are doing the best you can but this system is fucked. The idea that a doctor Who works 60-90 hours a week and barely has any sleep is operating on me is terrifying.

I don't know how I would feel about my surgeon who got barely 3 hours of sleep, operating on me. Healthcare system needs to step the fuck up and ensure quality of life for their workers...

As a doctor myself, the stress level of having to beat the clock to be on time for call would undo me, so props to you! (I have an occasional nightmare where I get called to a delivery as a newborn hospitalist only to open the door in my dream to find myself in a strange downtown with no way to get to my hospital in Boston. )

This is why this is the only profession I don't mind that can earn 6 figures a month. Imagine needing to wake up at 2AM and you need to have the brain, the skills to perform a surgery

Same Kevin, same. I constantly get asked about feelings on being woken up in the middle of the night and having to do things telephonically or go in etc. 1. It is literally what I get paid to do. And 2. Its for a patient and colleague in need for whatever reason - how could one be upset by that? It is nice to feel like one has purpose.

I feel sorry that doctors have so little rest. Surgeons should have good rest to ensure they stay sharp and focused.
