For 3 consecutive years, I’ve been the monitor of my class. Even though our boys’ class monitor hated me at times (different grades but same combo 🤦‍♀️), I earned huge respect from my classmates. They even spoke about my leadership to students from other classes. I realized that respect and hatred are not about the position you hold, but about the way you treat people and the respect you give them. Leadership is about the effort you take to make every moment special and memorable for others. Even when the school management was against me and tried to get me into trouble for organizing our classroom farewell — something our school never allows — it was my classmates and teachers who protected me from getting caught. If you break people’s prejudices with your actions, the respect and love they give you feels truly unreal… like being on cloud nine. I’m genuinely grateful to have led different people for 3 years and still hold a place in their hearts as “THE GREAT MONITOR” — a title given by them😭😭😭

As someone who has been the monitor for 4 years in a row: IT IS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES YOU CAN GO THROUGH. It's basically like the school is punishing you because you're too good. Your classmates start hating you, you can't focus nicely on studies, and the teachers scold you for small mistakes and everything is to be blamed on you

I have a really horrible class when I was in class 8 there were 4 times when the monitor were changed and no one was ready to be a monitor of class 8 😅

Everyone is is saying monitor gets isolated In my class monitor were chosen by voting and in the class of 60 students every year I used to get 50+ vote and whole class was my friend
