I used to work at a fried chicken and pizza place next to the wave pool in a water park so we'd get mobbed when they got everybody out. One day at the end of summer we had a giant line (like usual) and this lady got out of line and dragged her kids to the front because they were "hot and hungry" and we should take her first. I told her I couldn't do that so she demanded my supervisor. Unfortunately for her my supervisor was actually younger than me and on his last shift before he left for college so he did not care 😅 he told her if she didn't want to wait in line she should go to the Wawa down the street like the employees often do, plus they have air conditioning.

Ah, that reminds me of my class trip from Hamburg/Germany via Milano/Italy to Athens/greece for our 3 weeks excursion... the flight was a bit overbooked due to a system glitch (back in the mid-nineties, by the way)and a family with children who DID book the same row went after us and... well, some of us (ten students and our teacher with his wife as accompanying adults) were seated in their row. We instantly volunteered to sit somewhere else, and the stewardesses placed half of us in the last free places in the first class and make sure the other half go the good food and wine, too - and a round of champagne we later learned was on the pilot for being so nice as a school group.(Note to US Americans: we were 16-17 back then, we were allowed to drink wine at that age, with written consent of our parents.) Being kind and respectful to others, especially people working doesn't hurt you, but might come with small benefits.
