I started with an ‘02 TL that lasted 330k miles. Acuras are amazing cars and are extremely easy to find parts for and work on yourself

The lower end bmws are super easy to find for around or under 10k on fb marketplace or other places or even Lexus is250,300,350 are cheap I got my 2003 is300 for 7k with 80k miles and mint condition and then my ct200h for 6k at 120k miles in good condition

Any n52 bmw is great they are typically under 10k with higher miles and the engines run forever if you do the maintenance when needed. Oil changes every 5k spark plugs every 40k gaskets belt and pulleys at 100k if not done already and pcv/ccv system. and you’re pretty much good till 300k miles on these motors. wish I’d be able to tell the kid that.

When money’s tight. And you go with a 5k or less car. You really gotta be willing to do the repairs & maintenance yourself. Miata, Civic, or an older truck. The simpler the car, the easier & cheaper it’ll be to own it.
