Ever wonder how mechanics safely disassemble an engine cylinder head? 🛠️ Before you can pull a valve out of the bottom of a cylinder head, you have to remove the massive springs holding it shut! In this video, a mechanic is using a specialized leverage compressor to push down on the valve spring retainer. By compressing that heavy-duty spring, it takes the pressure off the two tiny wedge-shaped valve keepers (collets) locked into the top of the valve stem. Once the pressure is off, they can be carefully plucked out, allowing the entire spring assembly to be safely released and removed! #mechanic #enginebuild #valvesprings #carrepair #mechanictools #automotive #diyautorepair #carmaintenance #educational #cartok
