Is Michael Carrick REALLY The Right Manager For Manchester United!?

I wish i was as excited as most fans but i am really worried. I dont like this slow counter football depending on bruno for the final pass.

To be honest there is nothing exciting about carrick being our permanent. Hope we sign players for him and not throw him under the bus.

What i don't like about our team is our reliant on Bruno to do everything. Hope we sign good players who will make us better

Honestly I don't think he makes the full season. Either his tactics and players stagnate, or the ownership lose patience even after giving him a half assed window in which key positions still don't have cover for the multiple competitions. These performances wont scrape by forever

Hope he succeeds, but appointing him without interviewing *anyone* is unacceptable

Has Carrick done enough to earn the spot as fulltime manager?

It will be like ole 2.0 season..i dont believe in this owners or the recruitments...

C4RR1CK simply deserves it! He has done enough! If we recruit well in the tranfer window he could very well be the man to build an actually competitive future for MU.

Am I crazy to believe that apart from Bruno and Mainoo, the rest of the squad actually played better football under Amorim? I don’t know how much it has to do with the manager, but for me personally Cunha Mbeumo and Amad especially have dipped significantly since Amorim? Casemiro and Sesko are playing at pretty much the same level, but they’re scoring more goals under Carrick so they probably are better under Carrick in that sense but in sense of what they are doing on the pitch, I don’t see a huge improvement over Amorim! Luke shaw has gotten much worse, Maguire and Martinez didn’t playas much so difficult to compare but for me they’re playing at their level under both managers! Lemmens has been very good under both managers! Diogo is a tough one because he has been more consistent under Carrick but for me his best performances this season came from LWB position around the Crystal Palace game time till the AFCON! Dorgu is someone who performed well under Carrick but he has been good since that Newcastle game under Amorim! So I don’t see huge improvements by players except Mainoo and Bruno (who even under Amorim as the double pivot was putting great performances but his numbers have improved very much under Carrick) and this is apart from Mount, Yoro, maz, zirkzee etc and other players who have dipped because of lack of playing time! Under Carrick, we’ve been playing a compact defensive 442 which has made us defensively more solid, and we’re finish our chances upfront which has been the biggest difference maker under Carrick imo compared to Amorim! Again this is just what I see, imo, not to defend Amorim or say Carrick is bad(because I admit our best games have been city and arsenal under Carrick) but still this troubles me a bit! Am I missing something??

People keep talking about tactics, transfers, data, systems, modern football. And yes, all of that matters. But football clubs are not software companies. They are living institutions. They breathe through memory, identity, and culture, things cannot be taught in coaching badges. Carrick understands what this club is supposed to feel like. Calm under pressure. Technical without arrogance. Youth with courage. Winning without losing dignity. That was the identity. Not just winning trophies, plenty of clubs can buy trophies for a period. The real challenge is building something supporters emotionally recognize as their own. That’s why I back Michael Carrick for the manager’s job.

honestly speaking man united is not a team that won through genius tactics we won through players fitting into the winning culture set by ferguson we have had big managers who have failed if carrick can bring stability and get support by players and club then success is our portion

I don't think this is the right decision, this is Steve Holland and Southgate football, and it won't cut it in the champions league and playing 2 matches a week. Buying new players will have no effect if the tactics and performances stay the same. I really hope I'm wrong and would welcome the 'i told u so's' but I don't see it working out. I pray it does though.

Right now there are no better managers than what we have. If not Enrique then give it to him. With the right players he can improve the playing style because he had to work with what he has.\

We didn't play good football under Carrick. We had good moments and luck in favour of us. Good results below average performance as a team.

I'd like to see Sir Jim attempt to reconcile "best in class" with awarding the interim coach the permanent role without interviewing any other candidates. I don't have the faintest idea what he'd say, but I bet there'd be a veritable cornucopia of 'pretzel logic' in his response. There'd have to be.

I think with the right recruitment this summer there’s no way things go wrong with Carrick. For me I had doubts initially but in games like Chelsea away, arsenal away, city at home, brentford home, Leeds home(even though we lost), he has shown that his on the fly coaching is good and he isn’t too rigid with his shape and his man management seems to be good. He is a young coach and I think he could develop well alongside the squad.

The recruiting will have more of an impact on the ability of the club to play 60 matches as anything else.
