SAME WATER - Documentary Short Film In December, I traveled to El Tunco, in El Salvador, alongside two Portuguese surfers, Maria Salgado and Francisco Ordonhas. Over ten days, I sought to understand the deep relationship between the local community and the sea. The film was born from a journey experienced from the inside out. A film about surfing, encounters, and listening, where water emerges as a shared territory between those who arrive and those who welcome, in the same water. Handheld documentary filmmaking fascinates me. Arriving somewhere with a strong desire to create, without local connections, and simply allowing yourself to discover people and places naturally, comes with both pros and cons. But the positives made it all worth it, magical encounters, some almost daily, in the same place, driven by the same desire to connect and create.
