Master of the Poke | Short Documentary

Master of the Poke is a short documentary following Kris Hjembo, a San Francisco beach volleyball player and coach, as she adapts her game after a shoulder injury while continuing to compete at a high level. Set around the beach volleyball community at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, the film explores competition, partnership, coaching, and the obsession that keeps people coming back to the sand day after day. What begins as a story about injury and adaptation becomes a story about identity, resilience, and the community that forms around a shared love of the game. Directed and produced by Lance Miller.
