"Honey I beat the marathon world record!" "Wow congratulations on the win!!" "I got third"
You break 2 and come in 2nd?! Ouch.
This is like seeing 2 guys run under 9.57 in the 100m & one going sub 9.5 😳🤯
I'm confident that with those new shoes I could run a marathon in under 2 (days).
The second guy ran his FIRST marathon and he also the two hour barrier. Please, lets acknowledge this most astounding debut run.
To close a marathon with a 10km segment faster than most club runners could ever dream of running on fresh legs is truly historic.
Whoever thought that when we broke the 2 hour barrier, it would be 2 at once. Simply amazing. Give thanks to Kipchoge for laying the groundwork, to Kiptum for bringing it within reach.
Yomif Kejelcha bro. 3:47 indoor mile, 7:23 3000m 12:38 5000m 26:31 10,000m 57:31 half marathon And now sub 2 debut marathon. Really an underrated athlete.
The real story is the second place finisher who ran his first ever marathon in under 2 hours
Not really related to the video, but it’s crazy how the women’s marathon wr still stands despite her being banned but Kiplimo’s half marathon wr gets removed because the car drove too close to him 🤨
3 people would have broken the world record🤯
Physical barrier broken, but more importantly, a psychological barrier broken. Similar to when the 4min mile was broken. Sub 2s will probably become more regular now. Crazy
Kiplimo did a great job with the handicap of Alphafly 4s surrounded by Adidas. He was like the charity runners who carry a fridge.
I ran cross country back in high school. I never ran a 4:17 mile. Never. Not once. Not even for a single mile. This guy did it 26 times over. Actually built different.
Sadly, Kejelcha doesn't know what it's like to run a marathon in over 2-hours...
Having Kejelcha there for so much of the race had to have pushed the pace.
100% the best sporting achievement of my lifetime! Insane work
3:57 Ruth cheptingietich was literally doping. She got caught after the race doping but her time still counted.
Kejelcha with his versatility reminds me of Sifan Hassan😊 He, Sawe and Kiplimo will give us great marathon battles in future years🎉🎉 But Yomif is the real king for me.
This man is unbelievable. And also Kejelcha in his marathon debut!! I never thought in my life I would ever see something like this. Just extraordinary running.
