Those shades are always very, very weak to physical damage. Whenever I fight them, I always have a great time.

Put that same ash of war on the watchdog great sword and use the jar shards from Alexander. Itll do even more with the right incantation buffs.

Yes lions claw is one of the best ashes of war because of its high damage output and stagger damage.

Honestly yeah, it isn't the BEST AoW but it's super solid. Very reliable and the stagger damage is insane, assuming the target is too large to resist being slammed on the ground outright.

Even the Savage version from the DLC is great for PvE. Just don’t try it in PvP unless you know it’s not a really good player. Most will just step to the side and dodge it, just to backstab you.
