I had to move away from my best friend after my mom died. Two and a half hours drive. She cried and said I'd find a new best friend. We're 43 now, still best friends.

When I was 7 there was a girl named Avelee at my school and instantly we became best friends. She was one of my first ever friends and we became super close. Then a year later she moved away and I cried myself to sleep every night wishing my only friend would come back to me one day. Until I met a girl named Callie who was my second friend ever. Just like with Avelee we became super close friends and I still remember the feeling when I found out she was also moving away. Fast forward to when I was 9, I was on the basketball court outside walking around alone when this girl walked up to me and said, “you were friends with Avelee right?” I looked at her and said “yeah..” and I still remember the amount of joy I felt when she asked to be my friend. To this day me and her are best friends and I don’t know what I would do if she left me like the others. Sorry guys I just had to vent about that

My bestie moved last year bc her dad died. She was only 10. Now, its her birthday today and if i could ask for anything, i would ask to hug her for at least a minute
