You carry their essence with you. I miss my Grandma and it’s been about 17 years since she passed. Also from Jamaican heritage. Tip: if you are leaving the sheet up and the table cloth, you may want to iron it which will make a difference visually

Perhaps you can visit Colombia Road flower market one Sunday and pick up some real flowers and a star jasmine climber. It's a lovely morning out and you can do bagels for lunch. The jasmine would give you some year round green and something tangible to celebrate your grandmother. It loves a pot and you can always take it with you when you move. And Happy Mother to your mum too.x
