Going on SSRIs was a game changer for my day-to-day life. I remember the first time after starting medication I realized my general mood was very ‘middle of the road’ and it was the most wonderful feeling.

Thanks for sharing. Ptsd/panic disorder/mdd here. 15 years now. Been on the right meds now for maybe 8 of those years and it really does make a difference. I avoided everyone and everything for many years bc if I didn't id be in a constant state of literal panic. Sometimes these meds are very necessary!

I have had such a similar experience! And I will forever advocate for going on medication if needed! It has changed my life-and you said it best-you feel like yourself! It’s a great feeling!!!! ❤

They'd rather throw us all into a an asylum and not have to deal with us. I'm pretty sure they should all be on meds.

we are seeing a rise in awareness of mental health more nowadays because we're able to take care of and treat people with mental illness. before we had people openly taking SSRIs, people were shipped off to convents or insane asylums to die in agony because their brain chemistry was different. it's incredible that we have medicine and psychology that can treat mental illnesses and let people live their lives to the fullest.

Grew up and still in Indiana, similar issues with my family. My brothers sadly had poor reactions to SSRIs and so one got worse and the other got serotonin syndrome. Personally I've been prescribed SNRI's and I've never experienced the issues that they did! I really believe there's a genetic component involved, not the point. It genuinely took me so long to even ask or voice my concern, shout-out to my amazing PCP for allowing me to feel heard after years of medical neglect. We got this babes, thank you for speaking up❤

Thank you for speaking on this, I really think it's something we shouldn't be ashamed about anymore. Without my meds, talk therapy, and my best friend, I can say with absolute certainty, I would not be on this planet anymore. Taking my meds away from me would be a 💀 sentence for me.

I’ve been on ssris since I was about 11. I’ve tried weaning off and went nuts. My brain chemistry just doesn’t work on its own lol

Please research how changing your diet can eliminate so much. Sadly all the crap in our food has created most health /mental health issues in our country. Pharmaceuticals are not always the best answer. Just understand they take a toll on our bodies through the years as well.

As an older person in the first group that took Prozac, it's doing damage and that damage is permanent. At the time it felt like a godsend. The doctors where I live don't want to prescribe it because they've seen the repercussions. When you hit your forties and the madness takes over and you can't ever sleep correctly, you'll understand and wish you hadn't.

It's still hard for people to get help because there's still a stigma We have to keep reaching out and keep hearing stories like yours ❣️❣️ bravo! For talking about it. I feel so happy for you and keep up what you're doing. Thank you for this ☺️♥️ your my happy place 🎉❤

Thank you for sharing! You are such a sweet kind and sparkly human. You make me and many feel seen and affirmed. I relate and suffered until 40 years old until finally lowering my ego enough (and crippled by daily blackout style panic attacks) to try Prozac. Game changer. Also really kicking myself for not allowing myself to have this peace earlier!!!!

the amount of hell that will be unleashed with so many of us having to go unmedicated -- they really do not want that to happen. I do not think they are prepared for the results of this.

I am so proud of you!!!!❤❤❤ And thank you so much for doing this, I am just like you, so extremely anxious since forever, and only now being able get help. And you're so right, you getting better can also help the people around you, it's so much easier to show up for people and do things, because life doesn't feel so impossibly overwhelming anymore. Things finally feel more possible again❤
