I honestly feel like we should have D2's age of triumph now. Final Shape was a great ending and episodes were nice to have. But it really should've stopped after Heresy with the tease of the nine and Kepler with the chess board quest. Buts that's just my opinion.

I like that we’re in the middle of everyone talking about Destiny 2 but not playing it because of content drought. That tells me people still care about Destiny even after everything that’s happened.

With this theory, if Bungie wanted to reuse assets they could have us do Delves into the Pale Heart as a sort of training grounds. From which we can draw on past experiences and solidify memories into weapons amd armor to take with us out into the world at large. Something we essentially already do.
