Oh wow; having an alternate timeline version of the Guardian kill the Guardian honestly goes really friggin hard
essentially, we're going to Tau Ceti
Ghost rolling up on me with the strap for a random cutscene death fading to black "thanks for playing D2" would be the most bungie thing ever
Our ghost is the thin line between us being nothing
*crushes ghost* “Hardcore mode Activated”
Another scenario involving our Guardians death would be to make it so that there is an ultimatum that happens. We have finally met a problem that isn't able to be solved by just beating/defeating it. Our Guardian must choose to disperse all of the power within themself to be absorbed into everyone and everything and leave only there favorite sword behind. Our Guardian is gone and we get to see the scene of our gravestone play out.
Maybe they can do something like Dragon ball Xenoverse, where in D3 you start with a new guardian and as you go through the prologue and you hear about this awesome cool guardian that saved the universe multiple times, and it turns out to be your guardian from D2. But then something happens where you watch you old D2 guardian get killed in front of you by some powerful force and that’s how D3 begins

Cross is collecting infinity stones.
Cross mentioning the best anime ever created was not on my bingo card today lol Frieren is a MASTERPIECE! and my favorite anime hands down cross knows PEAK!😤👏👏
I'm not sure I want the whole of the Solar System to be destroyed, since there's a lot of mysteries we haven't really touched yet, but I do love the idea that a Destiny 3 is a fresh start. New planets, new Guardians, new Races. Cabal Guardians, or Colony sized spaceships. Threats that we haven't even seen before and new characters to meet and of course new powers.
14:39 I love this concept except after we start combining all survivors in to one mass beings that craves a final shape. We become The Witness, it’s an endless cycle then when they launch a remastered version it can be played over and over.
My idea for d3 was a prequel where we are a new guardian in the dark ages and we have warlords ruin style
*So... everything's gone. Your stuff, my stuff... but most importantly... MY STUFF!*
I feel like we should have more of shin Malphur/Cayde-6 type of story. Our guardian at the pinnacle of strength has to sacrifice themselves to stop a calamity. The guardian gives up all their light to save humanity and in doing so their ghost is passed down to a new light. We play that new light and lead the new generation of guardians to become legend like that one we used to be.
I like where this is going. Imagine the narrative shift where your Ghost stops being a "loyal companion" and becomes a "divine handler" using immortality as a leash. By manipulating resurrection, the Ghost strips away your agency, turning a game mechanic into the Traveler’s leverage to dictate "Destiny." You might witness this firsthand when your Ghost decides an ally—like Ikora or Lodi, who have already lost their daughter to these machinations (just a theory)—is an obstacle to this divine puppet mastery. As they begin to question when the "Guardians" of the universe became its absolute ruler, you are forced to watch your Ghost deliberately delay your return, specifically to ensure their final end. In this light, you are no longer a Guardian; you are strictly "The Weapon," an instrument executing a script that serves a divine plan over individual agency. To truly win and restore the universe’s fate to humanity, you would eventually have to remove the Traveler from the board, sever the bond with your Ghost, and embrace your own mortality. It has to end that way. You’d have to choose to be a man who can finally rest, rather than a Weapon that cannot. Fade to black. "Thanks for playing Destiny."
13:25 imagine our guardian dies to a jumping puzzle
What if Bungie is just a metaphor for the struggle to transcend our own destinies? Just kidding, it’s a metaphor for buying a house you never got inspected.
