As a diesel driver, I myself am of the mind that noise is how one knows a vehicle is working properly; if the vehicle starts making a noise it doesn’t usually make, that’s when one knows it needs some maintenance. Handily, the inventor of diesel engines designed them to be able to run on various fuel sources, so I run mine on high-cetane renewable diesel, which both burns cleaner & is domestically made… but best of all, makes the exhaust smell faintly of a chip shop.
