What will extend the range far more than removing the spare tire and jack is not putting massive wheels and tires on. For most vehicles anything over 18" wheels is pointless.

I took an Outlander out for a look see. When talking to the salesman about it missing a spare tire he looked at me and asked why? He reminded me that the vehicle comes with a warrantee that will mean that I wouldn’t change the tire. He said you’ll call us and we will pick the vehicle up and if you still own it after the warrantee is over you’ll probably want to get CAA

We had to make the same choice 3 years ago when we ended up deciding on the Toyota. Lots of research & thought process went into it & the fact that we couldn't find a new RAV4 Limited hybrid to test drive made the decision even more difficult. We did test drive 2 of the CRV Sport Tourings, a Forester, & a Mazda CX50 before getting down to either the Honda or the Toyota. We finally found a year old model with over 30,000 miles on it to drive & that tipped the favors over to the Toyota. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago & I got to ride in a new '26 CRV Sport Touring hybrid owned by good friends. He said he really like the RAV4 Limited hybrid better, but didn't want a '25 model & they were ready to buy. He says with a bit over 10,000 miles on the new CRV, he is disappointed in the performance & the fuel economy, but otherwise they both really like the CRV.. Their driving habits are very similar to ours, but tend to drive a bit slower than us. His total average fuel economy is 32.7 mpg & with 29K on our RAV our total average is 34.6 mpg. The vast majority of our miles is highway & interstate driving & a bit spirited... The road noise in his CRV is much louder & the harshness on road joints much worse than in our RAV4. He's running OE Michelin Primacy tires & I have Michelin Defender2s on our RAV4. The Honda is a very nice little SUV, but riding in the '26 CRV made me feel good about going with the Toyota. Don't get me wrong, they're both great vehicles & I really wanted to fall in love with the CRV which would have made a great stablemate to our Honda Passport, but for us I believe we made the correct choice.

I almost got into a fist fight with the sales manager at a Dodge dealer after I bought a Caliber SRT-4 , got it home and realized it didn’t have a spare tire. I was extremely upset to say the least.* he said it was a “city car”, WTF is THAT. I currently have a ‘23 Nero EV and it didn’t have a tire in it either for a spare. So I bought a whole set of aftermarket rims which made it more of my vehicle anyway and used one of the old rims and put it in the trunk with only slight modification. Number one I had to have the TPMS removed because it was sending off indication that I had a bad tire or something was wrong and so I had to have them disassemble the tire and take that TPMS out…well, they actually just broke off the battery. I couldn’t believe it. Anyway that’s for another day to deal with…. Number two I had to deflate the tire slightly and I had to make sure I had one of those tiedown bolts with the little, should I say, very large washer on it to go over the center hub of the now “spare tire” which was the original tire on the car. I will eventually use those tires, but I’m kind of fond of my new rims.😂 …what a pain in the tookus!

I get the no spare tire. And on the other side, my 14 year old vehicle has never had a flat tire, and the spare is brand new. So you have a 14 yera old tire now that may have dry rot? I wont let a spare tire, or not, make my decision on the vehicle purchase. On the flip. I know how to change a flat tire, and so do all my kids

Don't forget the issues with DJI Drones in the US. People are concerned about the same issues with Chinese EV's with camera and audio recording.

I've been watching you for about 5 years. Although it is entertaining to watch what is going on in the background where you park and make the videos, why not make the videos in the comfort of your home? Do you still have your GTI?

I've been driving for 30 years. I have never, ever had to break out my spare tire. In fact, I'd be more worried about the condition of the spare that's been strapped to the bottom of my 15 year old car.

Run flats are terrible. I had a flat sudden flat on the freeway on my BMW, new tires, the car immediately called BMW roadside and they assured me it’s OK to drive on the freeway you know under just 65 miles an hour…. The tire was not even shredded. It literally felt like the tire was going to fly off the rim. Every car I have had sense I’ve gotten an extra OEM rim and tire and legit jack for the trunk🎉

Are Tire repair kits effective if the puncture is in the side wall or shoulder of the tire?

I can understand Zach's comments about Ford not continuing the Escape. I think the Bronco Sport and Maverick are built on the same platform as the Escape. Ford is possibly thinking they can service the compact SUV market with those 2 vehicles. Time will tell.

The tire repair Kits can work well for a very short period of time, until you can get to a repair shop. I had a flat in my Solterra last year and the tire goop actually worked really well for the 300+ kilometers limp to get back home. Nothing was open at the time, so I had no choice but to drive back home. I now carry a full spare + rim in the back when I go on long trips. Of course the range is effected by higher weight, but the piece of mind is more than worth it!

The initial criticism of the CX-90 transmission came down to it's software, which you can get updated at your local dealer for free. I have a '24 model and have NO complaints. It's smooth.
