I love how Yahtzee reviews are the way I learn that new games even exist
For some reason, seeing Captain Haddock as the protagonist amused me to no end
"Fig. 2" being 2 figs is a nice touch
Naming a planet Carcosa and expecting it to be a good time is about the same as people in Warhammer settling on a world called Armageddon and being happy about that lol
Honestly a game set in Carcosa in which your grip of reality starts to fall apart around you sounds like it was the intended experience - at least on paper.
The problem with having stupid people in Cosmic Horror is that the plot twist stops mattering, because the audience will always have to consider, "well, everyone ignored all the obvious problems, so they're probably even _more_ useless with the subtle ones." So, when the big reveal happens, people just go, "it's probably a lie, and my character is probably stupid enough to fall for it." It becomes like trying to get emotional over a dog chewing on your favorite shoe; that can never be taken as some grand betrayal, because a dog just is what it sort of is.
"A planet named Carcosa." Oh, okay, I guess they're not being subtle at all about what the eldritch abomination is this time.
Gorilla with a pistol for a head is my new favorite monster design.
'Carcosa', like 'Innsmouth', is not an auspicious name for a planet
I did in fact enjoy that little gag of fig 2 mister credits writer.
Shit that ending was hilarious.
Apparently Yahtzee discovered that weird moment while playing bullet hells when you get in the zone and stop thinking about anything else other than dodging projectiles and the rest of existence just melts out of your consciousness for a bit, I always wondered why our brains apparently have a "I'm a heat-seeking missile now and my only purpose is to destroy that one thing" mode.

"A distant planet called Carcosa" I pause, I sigh deeply at the lack of subtlety, and I continue.
And here I thought Carcosa was lost...
Okay, now I want Rahul Kohli to play Captain Haddock in a live-action Tintin movie. "Actually, my last name is Handa, but no one could remember it..."
A lot of space themed games lately. I feel like I keep seeing that astronaut helmet graphic. lol
It warms my heart that Yahtzee knows who Captain Haddock is.
Ive actually been REALLY liking this game. But I had the opposite problem and was wondering if I missed out on character dialogue, since Ive been zipping through the game. Most runs I get to the objective and get back to base, so some plot stuff almost felt like it was happening TOO fast. Though it doesn't surprise me they run out of dialogue after a few runs because uh.... your crew doesnt really have much to do after Act 1 for reasons you'll see. I also get CHILLS every time the Eclipse happens and your suit's voice starts to corrupt. Imagine asking Siri the weather and in a warbling voice she just says "BE MADE GLORIOUS. IN YELLOW."
1:59 OH GOD! CLARKING IT HAS BREACHED CONTAINMENT!
