I don't watch sports ball so I don't know how these things work but I would expect a professional player to know you're supposed to touch the plate when you go buy it if that's THE actual method of scoring 🤦

To be fair to the runner, it looked like the thrown ball hit him in the foot before hitting the umpire, making the runner stumble going in to the plate. That said, if he wasn't absolutely sure he hit the plate, he should have gone back to touch again.
